Opening reception for UnEarthed – Photographs by Eric Seplowitz,  is on Monday September 9,  from 5:30-8:30pm at the Art Gallery at UConn Stamford, 1 University Place.  Exhibit of free and open to the public. In this latest series, Eric examines the direct connection between what is happening in the larger macro environment, to what is happening on the micro level. Rocks and minerals are Eric’s subjects. Each specimen provides new opportunities for exploration and reveals complex, vibrant, and often surprising micro-landscapes. These tiny mineral and rock structures are literally the building blocks for everything around us– they play a major part in how we relate with the world in which we live. The exhibit is on display through the first week of October.

Art Exhibit opening at the Stamford JCC

In my latest series, Micro Landscapes – Small on a Large Scale, I examines the direct connection between what is happening in the larger macro environment, to what is happening on the micro level. The natural world includes our relationship to the planet…everything we have is derived from it: our food, water, life, and social connections. These tiny mineral and rock structures are literally the building blocks for everything around us– they play a major part in how relate with the world we live in.

I use macro (close-up) photography to get close to the rock and minerals I photograph to present these tiny landscapes as grand.

Show will be on display at the Stamford JCC from July 1st - August 30th 2019
